There was a big earthquake in Jaipur. The National Centre for Seismology reported that it had a magnitude of 6.2 and happened in Nepal, about 5 kilometers deep underground. This earthquake caused strong shaking in Jaipur and the Delhi-NCR area. The National Center for Seismology shared this information on X:
“Earthquake of Magnitude: 6.2, Occurred on 03-10-2023, 14:51:04 IST, Lat: 29.39 & Long: 81.23, Depth: 5 Km, Location: Nepal.” The shaking was so intense that it lasted for more than a minute, and many people in North India, including Delhi-NCR, Punjab, and Haryana, quickly left their buildings to stay safe.

The police control center in Jaipur said they didn’t have any information about any losses at that moment. According to NASA (the U.S. space agency), on April 25, 2015, Nepal experienced a devastating earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8. This earthquake tragically took the lives of more than 8,000 people and left over 21,000 others injured.
