The India vs Pakistan match in the 2023 Asia Cup was canceled due to rain

Whether you’re a player, referee, commentator, organizer, police officer, or just a fan, there are plenty of things to think about when it comes to an India vs Pakistan ODI match. The last thing anyone wants to worry about is the weather on match day.

Unfortunately, the weather has become a big topic of discussion for the first India vs Pakistan ODI since the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2019.

This match is going to be the first ODI of this famous rivalry in Sri Lanka since a memorable Asia Cup 2010 encounter where Harbhajan Singh hit a crucial six against Shoaib Akhtar. However, there’s a real chance that this first-ever India vs Pakistan ODI at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium could be affected by rain. If that happens, it will be the first time in 16 years that an India vs Pakistan ODI has to deal with bad weather.

Pallekele’s Weather Casts Uncertainty Over India Vs Pakistan ODI In Asia Cup 2023

First of all, it’s not unusual for this place to have lots of rain around this time of year. They thought it might rain during the Sri Lanka-Bangladesh match yesterday, too, but luckily, the rain wasn’t too bad, and the game went on okay.

Tomorrow, when India plays Pakistan in a One Day International (ODI), the weather needs to be kind again. The game is supposed to start at 03:00 PM (local time), and a weather website called AccuWeather says there’s a 58% chance of rain right at the start.

The chance of rain will go down a bit during the first part of the game, but around 07:00 PM, it might go up to 60%. The most worrying part is that the chance of rain could stay at 65% until midnight. If it keeps raining like that, there’s a small chance the match might be cut short because of the rain.
